Ruling Says Women May Vote At Party Conventions
Attorney General opinion outlines Texas Democratic convention process for 1920 electing delegates to the national convention. Precinct conventions May 1, 1920 elect delegates to county, then county to state, with only qualified voters and Democrats as participants. Women are qualified voters and may participate if otherwise eligible. The 1918 presidential primary law was declared unconstitutional, so the convention system applies.
