Ride Through a Texas Sandstorm in a Farcical Flivver Chronicle
An eyewitness diary recounts a chaotic 50 mile trip in a tiny car against a Texas sandstorm. The improvised journey from Vernon toward Wichita Falls features misdirection, wild wind, and comic shenanigans as the drivers wrestle the vehicle, dodge onlookers, and narrowly reach their destination. Natives from nearby towns watch the spectacle while river imagery and slang pepper the tale, ending with a hesitant reflection on attempting the trip again in a hurry.
