Vernon High Wins Meet By Good Margin
Vernon High dominated an invitation track meet against Vernon, Wichita, Crowell, and Harrold, finishing first with 52 points while Harrold scored 20, Wichita 33, and Crowell 3. Bill Clynch of Harrold led scorers with 20 points. Vernon’s Walker, Ryan, and Crouch also placed high. Harrold won the class Bb title as no other Wilbarger County schools contested, and Fargo captured the junior division with 40 points. Times were slow due to wind. Clynch clocked 10 1-5 seconds in the hundred and might run 10 flat on a calm day.
