Federal Statutes Protect Utah Children From Farm Labor Conflicts
John E Dille regional director of the U S Department of Labor said federal child labor rules under the Fair Labor Standards Act protect farm children in Utah from being kept from school by work in harvests. He noted that any child under 16 locally required to attend school cannot be employed during school hours and that interstate shipments from farms employing such children are restricted within 30 days of removal.
