Apache Visitors Tour Uintah and Ouray Reservation
A group of 35 Apache Indians from the San Carlos Reservation in Arizona, with Joe Wagner and Paul Buss of the Indian Bureau, toured the Uintah and Ouray Reservation to observe a top range management program. Led by Paul A Krause, the visit included range unit inspections, cattle roundups, lectures by forestry and range staff, films, and discussions. The U&O area is cited as a leading example of scientific range management, after past overgrazing and erosion issues that once plagued Ute ranges.
