Dinosaurs National Monument borders revised by bill
President Eisenhower signed a measure revising Dinosaur National Monument boundaries. Tract 12, a key 1800 acre parcel desired by Utah for deer hunting and cattle grazing, was excluded from the monument. Utah cattlemen and the state fish and game commission sought recognition of grazing and hunting rights dating back to 1879. The move shifts land use while confirming hunting and grazing around the monument. Primary election results in Uintah County showed Rulon Jensen defeating Alvin Kay in the four year race, and Glen A Lambert edging Mark Pope in the GOP two year contest. two year Democratic runoff was not held.
