A plan to expand the Jensen Utah dinosaur quarry project into a national park and major natural history museum advances. About 5000 surrounding acres were withdrawn from filing by executive order, enabling exploration and eventual park creation. The steps include funding for excavation, carving fossils with the American Museum of Natural History, building a museum, and improving access roads over roughly five years.

Maeser along with W P Vernon Joseph Harrocks and Art Cor left early Friday to inspect water conditions in Ashley Gorge. They found a running stream three tones above Big Sinks in the mouth of the canyon then five miles with no water except ten or twelve small springs on the west side. They reached water four to five miles below the two big sinks which they followed beyond the sinks. The sinks were closed and about fifteen second feet of water passed over them. The stream grew smaller over four to five miles and finally disappeared in the rocks.
