New Wells at Rangely to Double Output
An application to construct a 75 mile pipeline from the Rangely oil field to Craig was presented to the Rio Blanco county commissioners by Fred M Manning and Brown Drilling Co. The plan, to be reviewed by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, aims to move output as new wells come online, with production potentially rising from 1000 to 2000 barrels per day, making trucking impractical. The Emerald No 1, jointly held by California Oil Co and Equity Oil Co, and other wells in the Rangely field are noted as early producers. The petition lists many companies with holdings or leases in the field, including Texas O Co and Barnsdall Oil Co, among others.
