Train Blast Near North Lawrence Explodes Kegs of Powder
An east bound freight on the Pittsburg Fort Wayne by Chicago line exploded one mile west of North Lawrence Ohio. A car holding 132 kegs of gun powder detonated tearing track up 100 yards. A 200 foot crater formed. Injured include engineer Galvin Crestline Thomas McCann Latonia W Rakhill Alliance Charles Braden Canton Samuel McDermott Canton.

Savannah, Ga, Oct 12 reports an approaching storm of similar strength to the August 27 event that devastated Georgia and South Carolina. Weather bureau warnings prompted full day preparations along the river and harbor as winds near forty miles per hour and vessels seek shelter. The Gate City remains docked and City of Augusta may face the gale. as of tonight no major damage reported.
