Powell Farm Identified by Owner's Daughter
A. H. Powell farm identified by owner’s daughter Mrs. Lloyd Pope who won five gallons of gas as a prize. The farm lies four miles southeast of Vernal. The Powells have lived there 35 years with several children born on the farm. Walter McCoy helped settle the place, the first log house and later improvements mark the holdings. The property includes about 50 irrigated acres as part of a larger tract and supports grain, hay, a few horses and cows. Both Mr. and Mrs. Powell are prominent Vermal residents active in LDS Church and community groups.
