City to Press Weed Clearing On Vacant Lots
Vernal City council last week voted that the police chief should insist owners or tenants clean weed covered vacant lots. Uncared for lots are a nuisance under city ordinance. The meeting also covered Uintah County health program funding, street lighting plans for several subdivisions, and a 220 volt system for the city building office to host the Vernal Chamber of Commerce miniature dinosaur replicas. An October 10 meeting with engineer Gene Nielson on the valley water system was scheduled, following talks with Uintah Water Conservancy District and Bureau of Reclamation on operation and financing.
