Drought Areas Eligible for Federal Stockmen Aid in Utah
Utah stockmen in 22 drought disaster counties including Uintah Duchesne Daggett and Beaver can buy commodity feed grains at current support prices. Applications go through county USDA ASC offices. The move follows Secretary Benson declaring the counties drought disaster areas after recommendations by Governor Clyde and Len Bennett and the State Drought Disaster Committee.

Rollin McNeill Funeral Rites Held in Vernal
Rollin Ayrum McNeill, 68, died Thursday at his home in Vernal after a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday at the Vernal Fourth Ward chapel with prayers, hymns, and speakers including Ralph Siddoway and Hugh W Colton. Burial followed at Jock Point Cemetery. Survivors: widow Nora Burton McNeill, two sons Leland and Jay, two daughters Betty Wart and Merlene Yall, seven grandchildren, and three sisters.

Naturalist Mebane to lead Lehman Caves Monument
Alan Mebane, assistant naturalist at Dinosaur National Monument in Vernal, will leave Thursday to become chief naturalist at Lehman Caves National Monument in Baker Nevada. He has been in Vernal since June 1958 and will be accompanied by his wife Jeanie and children Melissa and Christopher.

Budget Voted For College At Roosevelt
Vitah State Board of Education last week approved a tentative budget of 162800 for operating a junior college at Roosevelt during the 1961 42 biennium. The board also appointed Wilburn N Ball as acting superintendent to guide the department while a permanent head is chosen after the death of Pr E Allen Batuman. The action follows the Legislature’s approval of Roosevelt junior college with funding to be studied by the Utah Coordinating Council of Higher Education before any appropriation is made. Officials estimate a Roosevelt school would require further vocational program support as the initial unit.
