Jennie Wing Plans Vernal Move Tells Store History
Jennie Wing, owner of Wing's Dept Store in Vernal, has sold her Fort Duchesne store and will retire from operating both shops. She plans to spend time with her California family while remaining active in Vernal. health reasons prevent continued operation. Wing’s Department Store lineage traces back to Wong Sing and Wong C Wing, early Fort Duchesne merchants, whose enterprise expanded to Vernal with the 1951 opening of a central store and later moved to highway frontage. Wing expresses gratitude for friendships with Indians and Whites and plans to relocate, supported by her children and relatives in various states.
