Jensen Bridge Speed Limit Zone Near New Feel Bridge

The state road commission sets a 25 mile per hour limit for the Jensen bridge zone crossing the new feel bridge. The east approach is a steep hill and the west a straightaway. crossing is nearly silent, risking pedestrians and cars if speeds rise. Housewarming Will Attract Large Crowd In Vernal

The Vernal First Ward chapel hosts a three night housewarming dance in a space described as Eastern Utah’s largest. An expected 2000 dancers fill the hall with music by the Red Peppers starting at 8 pm after a country store and bazaar open. Admission is 85 cents, granting access to the dance and bazaar booths selling foods clothing and crafts. Proceeds support the new chapel with photographs and souvenirs offered.

After months of study the US Post Office seeks bids to move Uintah Basin mail from Salt Lake City to Vernal via Strawberry and STate 40. Two routes proposed Price to Vernal and Salt Lake City to Vernal would run seven days a week with bids around 23 000 to 27 700 dollars.

Musk Ox Skull Found Near University of Utah

A well preserved musk ox skull from the Pleisto cene era was unearthed by gravel pit workers half a mile from the University of Utah. The 21 inch skull and 41 inch horn span will be displayed in the geology museum for study, with Dr. Hintze noting its implications for Ice Age North America and predicting a forthcoming University publication.

Utah Supreme Court Upholds Charter Forfeiture Law

The Utah Supreme Court unanimously upholds a law allowing the secretary of state to cancel charters of social clubs when violations are shown after a hearing.
