Climate and death by own action in European study
A sweeping survey covers Europe linking climate to self-inflicted death. It notes May and June peak activity in central Europe and that Mondays and Tuesdays drive male and Sunday for females. Protestant communities report higher rates, with Jews showing fewer cases among orthodox groups. The report also notes divorce and alcohol as influential factors and suggests movies influence self-harm reports. Germany leads in male suicide rates. France shows lower figures.
