Stake Square Dance Date Set
A square dance for Uintah Stake members is scheduled for Saturday November 14 at 8 30 p m in the stake recreation hall. The stake MIA sponsors a full evening of square and round dancing inviting all to bring friends and form couples. Hosts include Mr and Mrs Glen Ovard and other Ovard family members with visiting relatives from nearby homes.

Explosion in Uintah Basin mine leaves eight dead
November 5, 1933, a blast at the Bonanza Gilsonite Mine in Uintah Basin Utah killed eight workers and injured several others. The fire sparked by overheated surface equipment or ignition near the head house spread through the mine, fatally affecting fourteen children left fatherless in one family. A later inquiry blamed an ignition source near the surface and noted the long, slow process to clear and timber the shaft while insurance and workers’ compensation claims rise.
