Meat Plant Adds New Cooling Unit in Uintah Basin
Economy Meat Plant nears completion of a 10 by 24 foot cooling unit to be ready by the first of the month. Manager LaBell Anderson says the brick and stucco room with vapor seal will store about 200 carcases of veal, lamb, and pork. The plant serves 8 stores locally and plans to expand cured and specialty meats for Ashley Valley farmers.

Appointed Coyote Inspector Named in Utah
J Rulon Hacking was appointed coyote inspector for southeastern Utah by the Utah State Board of Agriculture. Hacking is a local sheepman and newly elected vice president of the Vernal Lions Club. Forest Supervisor Ona A Harrison left for a training camp at Tony Grove on the Cache National Forest. He will attend a forest keeper conference Wednesday to Saturday and is expected back in Vernal next Tuesday. Juanita Hess, seriously ill, was discharged home after several days in bed.

Memorial services were held Sunday at the ward chapel for Wallace Galloway US Navy veteran, born May 24 1921 in Gliney. Attendants included American Legion members and relatives. a candlelit display and songs marked the tribute with a note from Captain Gehres praising his service aboard the USS Franklin during World War II.
