Umiah Basin Livestock Show Praised for Quality Exhibits
The eighth annual Umiah Basin Livestock Show attracted enthusiastic visitors who praised the fine cattle sheep and horse displays. Fut uro Farmers and 4H members dominated the show with 50 youths winning showmanship titles after over a year of preparation. Judges’ critiques sparked as much interest as praise, and the event aims to spur better stock quality and scientific feeding methods for Uintah Basin’s future. War restrictions may boost exhibits and a larger hall is planned with Roosevelt store changes and increased community support.

Watering Turns in Vernal City May Not Become Necessary
Vernal City may not require watering turns this summer if residents conserve water. City water superintendent Lafe Richardson says repairs of leaks and avoiding open hoses or watering after 9 pm can keep water use within free-flow limits. If supplies stay steady, a formal schedule may not be needed, with priority on leaks and nighttime restoration to maintain pressure.
