Shell Hall David Elwor and a boy named Dell Richardson camped near the Uinteh river bridge when the boy suddenly died while near the camp fire. The cause was heart failure. He was about 10, oldest son of widow Richardson of Dry Fork.

The United States Marshal will hold a public auction at the Uintah County Courthouse Vernal Utah on June 1 1897 at 1am to sell the Antictem Lode Mining Claim and Cop per the Aco Lode Mining Claim jointly owned by Victoria Copper Mining Company Illinois Trust and Savings Bank trustees Adolph Jossen Trustee William H Campbell receiver Robert O Chambers receiver and intervenors James L Gates and George B Farry to satisfy a court order in a foreclosure action. The sale includes all rights titles interests and appurtenances to the mining claims and related property and is conducted for Commercial Bank Earl W Spencer and Charles B Mredenald with cash as consideration.
Work begins Montag on a new road to Bingham's sawmill at the headwaters of Little Brush Creek. Arthur Q Johnson of Jensen Utah filed for final timber culture proof in Uintah County Utah. He will testify before the County Clerk in Vernal Utah on May 23 1897 for application 1206 for the west half of section 90 township 5S range 23. Witnesses include Fred Gane Joe McKee Wm McKee Jr and Eshtowart all of Jensen Uintah County Utah. Braoy Groo Register.
