The Sunshine Canal diversion is finished and in good order, designed by Hinson Cole of the Soil Conservation Service with Grant Chugg Alton Vernon and Leoard Horrocks aiding. Built with 9B cubic yards of reinforced concrete plus a steel gate, it spans 20 feet across the throat and 42 by 72 inches, enabling reliable irrigation water from Brush Creek above Jensen for Jensen Canal Company.

Some areas open earlier or year round, including Duschene and Green Rivers, while Indian reservation waters require a Ute Tribal fishing license in addition to a Utah license. The Ute Tribal license costs three dollars, and rules apply for seasons, hours, bag limits, and possession limits.
