Mothers Day Reflections On Love Sacrifice And Forgetfulness
A meditation on motherhood noting that one day a year cannot honor the enduring sacrifices of mothers. It contrasts fleeting tributes with the steady care and devotion mothers give, and laments neglect by grown children who forget their early reliance on maternal comfort and support.

Ashley Valley Schools Consolidation Meeting Faces Strong Debate
The Utah School district board metMonday with full attendance led by Chairman Roy Taylor to discuss consolidation of Ashley and Davis 4 tools with Vernal Central and Notes with Mas, Randlett with Leota and Fort Kesn¢ and Whiterocks with Ber and Tridel. A protest group from Ashley and Dallisti Arthur Corless urged caution while the PTA opposed sending junior high students to Vernal. The board approved elementary-only consolidation except Jensen, plans to transport 7th and 8th grades to Vernal, and considered building Avalon school under FERA with legal hurdles delaying action. A Maeser school stoker project was approved for $775 to compare heating costs, plus PERERA upgrades and a Whiterocks to Tridel bus route review, with a Dragon library note deferred to fall.
