Uintah High School PTA Installs 1959 60 President
Mrs Tivasniner was installed as Uintah High School PTA president for 1959-60 at the final meeting of the year held Thursday evening. Rhoda Robinson passed the post to the new president. Officers elected include Mrs C Laurence Lox as vice president and Mr Delbert Brown as secretary treasurer. Council delegate Mrs Samuel B Woolley. Outgoing Uintah County PTA Council President Ashel Evans installed the new officers.

Lon A Logan of Vernal is named Basin's outstanding woman of the year by the Current Topics club. A tea at Hotel Vernal on Saturday 2 to 4 pm will feature a 3 pm presentation of a liver tray. Logan leads local civic and business efforts and presides over the Utah Federation of Women’s Clubs.

Artesia Water Well Drilling For City Project
Carlisle Drilling Co works on a water well for the town north of Artesia as residents from nearby areas travel through. A Grand Valley Baptist dinner drew 118 people from Craig Rangely Denver Grand Junction and Artesia with services and meals. Mr and Mrs Yen Turek and extended family visited from Superior Wisconsin and planned a Portland Oregon trip including a Mia Turek reunion.

Vernal Jayceeettes Fund Donation For City Park Slide
The Vernal Jayceeettes end a two year civic drive by presenting a $200 check to Vernal City for a giant double slide in the city park near the swimming pool. The club plans to add funds to cover the full slide cost, with fundraising efforts including rodeo concessions, candy and bake sales, a doll raffle, a balloon sale, a rodeo parade, and a car wash.
