Funeral services for Joshua Birchell pioneer of Utah and Ashby Valley were held at Swain Funeral Home with Bishop John Hall presiding. He died April 29 in Reno of a heart valve condition after weeks of illness. his body was brought to Vernal for interment. He lived in Turk City Fort Duchesne and Dragon mining circles, and leaves eight children including Sarah Dumphrey Sacaton and JC Birchell Roosevelt.

Funeral to Be Held at Glines for Mrs Parker
Funeral services for Maniah Faye Parker age 72 will be at 7:00 am May 6 in the Glines ward chapel at 2:30 pm Friday. Elder John B Eaton to preside. Mrs Parker, long troubled with gall stones, died at her son John McKeachn’s home. Born in England she came to Utah as a girl of 12. Interment in Vernal cemetery under Swain Funeral Home direction.

Seminary Contest Planned For Sunday Night at Vernal
The annual LDS Seminary contest will be held at the Vernal First Ward chapel next Sunday evening starting at 7 o clock. The MIA of the two Vernal wards will meet jointly.
