County Commissioners Hold Regular Session Friday
The county commissioners met at the courthouse in regular session Friday. John Nelson of Vernal was appointed deputy county sheriff without pay. Davis of Dragon sought license issues for a poor hall but the board decided to continue the license. Vern H Allred of Wilton asked the board to urge state road officials to begin work from the Roosevelt end on the Twelve Mill bridge to Roosevelt road.

School Board hires primary supervisor for county schools
At a regular Vernal meeting the Unified County School Board voted to employ a primary supervisor under Superintendent Olsen. Olsen presented monthly and annual condition reports, noting gains in attendance punctuality and enrollment. Schools ranked well on standard tests and an accredited budget was prepared for summer repairs. Vacancies in the teaching list will be filled by the Superintendent and filled through his influence.
