Chamber Discusses Gas Line and White River Bridge Plans
The Verne Chamber of Commerce met at noon Tuesday to discuss a 103 mile 20 inch gas line into the Uintah Basin by Mountain Fuel Supply Co. Officials plan internal Saturday luncheon. A major bridge over the White River east of Ouray would carry pipe and heavy loads, aiding a north south highway and Park to area link. Uintah and Grand County officials will meet in Moab to review a proposed highway including Green River Jensen to Red Wash and a Book Cliffs link to U.S. 30. Existing bridges are inadequate for heavy loads. Green River bridge above Flaming Gorge was also raised for discussion.
