Campground Road Reconstruction and Barriers Planned
Officials warn that many campground roads will be rebuilt and barriers placed to limit vehicle travel for vegetation protection. Unchecked travel damages ground, harms grass and shrubs, and can kill trees. soil compaction from cars and feet worsens the impact. Ashley National Forest anticipates growing recreation with Flaming Gorge Dam and Vernal Manila highway, planning 150 to 200 family units yearly to provide picnic and camping areas.
