Ground for Vernal First Ward Chapel Set for April 6 Dedication

Bishop James H Wallis and counselor Haller Witbeck traveled to Salt Lake City for talks with church authorities and architects on the Vernal First Ward Chapel site. If plans hold, the ground is to be dedicated Friday April 6 with bids let for the entire project and local help employed where possible.

Bluebell Varmers Plan Moon Lake Dam Expansion

At a Farmers Irrigation meeting ten miles west of Roosevelt the company authorized a holding group to subscribe 42000 acre feet of water. They aim to build a larger dam at Moon Lake on West Lake Fork Creek with a 27000 acre feet capacity, near 7100 feet elevation. The Dry Gulch Irrigation company backs the plan, with approval from US Reclamation and Utah Water Storage officials, seeking interest-free loans via federal support.

82 Secure Licenses to Wed at Uintah County Courthouse 1927

In his annual report, Uintah County Clerk Wilson More reports 82 marriage licenses issued in 1927 and 14 divorce decrees. Sixty five ceremonies occurred in Uintah County while others took place nearby. The main divorce grounds were non support and cruelty. desertion was rare.

Election for Irrigation District South Myton Beach and Pleasant Valley

Forest Roads at Risk Without Agricultural Bill Amendments

Funeral Services Held for Gusher Infant Raymond Long

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon March 2 in Lapoint for three and a half year old Raymond Long who died Sunday evening. The rites were led by Bishop Chris Grdily of Greher. Interment followed at Lapoint cemetery. Raymond was the son of Afro and Mr. Guy Long. The family received community sympathy from Levi Rodily Geo Youre and Mrs. Delpha Young among others from Gusher.
