Uintah FFA Banquet Honors Members and Guests
Uintah FFA Chapter held its annual Parent and Sons Banquet in the Uintah High School cafeteria with opening ceremonies by FFA officers. Thomas Bingham gave the invocation, Barbara Sawards was introduced as FFA Sweetheart, and Gary Hall received awards for Carry Farming and outstanding farming. LeGrand Jarmon, state federation fieldman, spoke on farm issues. The event featured a quartet and Star Chapter Farmer award to Bob Sewards, with honorary members Orvil Dudley and Lee Sowards recognized for help. The chapter later attended the State FFA Convention in Salt Lake City, represented by Doyle Landon and others.

Marie Hatch caught a 150 pound eight foot marlin in Mazatlan Mexico after about an hour to land. Mr and Mrs Hatch traveled seeking river routes for boat trips but found none satisfactory and were away about a month.

Ashley Explorer Scouts Enjoy Fishing trip to Flaming Gorge
Glen Davidson led nine Explorers on a Friday fishing trip to Flaming Gorge returning Saturday. Local visits included Mr. and Mrs. Zanda Rodo Savich of Brown's Park, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kidd, Mrs. Claud Allred hosting a birthday for Marvin, and multiple visits among families in Altamont Roosevelt and Las Vegas. Don Winn and Aaron Hansen attended a National Counseling Convention in San Francisco, Barbara Sowards and Diane Chivers planned FRA and Utah FFA events with several officers and delegates. the Utah State FFA program was revised and a state Farmer Degree was conferred.

Saturday the party visited relatives in Kearns Magna Ogden and Orem while Mariam Allred returned home from college in St George. Annie Morrison accompanied relatives to Sacramento to see her daughter and son in law. Relief Society members and their husbands participated in a community event.

A local observance marked the 122nd anniversary in Lake City with a Thursday event. Mrs Wiswell hosted a buffet, medical supper and a checkup. Attendees viewed a short film titled The Mr and Mrs Norman Haslem Awakening before returning home. Norma Wiswell then went to Sal Friday.
