Eight years of federal building talk for Vernal Utah shows an initial $50,000 appropriation, later site costs of $4,750 and $4,950 paid, plus $20,000 added in 1917. Despite bills to raise limits to $100,000, no construction has occurred as the city grows into an inland hub with a larger post office and growing parcel post needs. The First West and Uintah Avenue site covers 116 by 145 feet, bought from Vernal First Ward, with $19,800 unspent and $25,250 still to be appropriated.
