Uintah Irrigation Project to Transform Green River Lands

Uintah Irrigation & Power Company plans a $600000 dam on Green river in Uintah County Utah Fifteen miles east of Vernal to back water into a 400000 acre Flatiron area The scheme envisions a 300 foot dam three cement cores and a canal system feeding 400000 acres with pumping plants and a generating facility capable of 79000 horsepower Officials say the project would create a lake 250 feet deep and power a new inland empire while attracting national financial interest and development plans

Classy uniforms for Brag Band backed by donors

A subscription drive in Vernal to fund Brag Band uniforms fell just short of the required amount. Hansona Orchestra and soloists will perform a musicale at the Tabernacle on Thursday evening March 34 3912 at 8 o'clock to boost support. The concert features seven young ladies and a program with piano, trombone, and quartet pieces.

Dobbie Whiskey Forfeit Case Heard In City Court

Justice B D Nebeker heard the case of James R Dobbie et al to show cause why liquor seized last Wednesday from the Dobbie & McCarrel warehouse should be forfeited to the city. Dobbie and counsel John T Pope appeared. owner’s attorney argued city unt lawfully seized merchandise valued at 3266.00. The defense offered no evidence of lawful holding since Vernal went dry. liquor found by officers deemed prima facie evidence of illegal use. Nebeker forfeited the Dobbie McCarrel liquor to the city. Henry Erekson sought a continuance in a related seized liquor case, which was granted.

W & M Presents Silver Cup For Uintah League Trophy

The Mutual Improvement Associations award a silver cup donated by George T. Odell of the Consolidated Wagon and Machine Company to the Uintah Stake basketball league champions. Anton Strebel is thanked for securing the trophy, with winners to have engraved names and hold it until defeated. Governor Spry proclaims April 25 as Utah Day with school programs and gatherings statewide.

A prior informal taxpayer meeting favored the bond. Davis or Pleasant View is a fast growing Ashley Valley area. Mrs Joseph Gagon of Roosevelt dies after two months illness at home. she leaves a husband and three children.

Justice Masssy's court settled a dispute between Homer Rudloff and Nephi Atwood over remuneration for services with Rudloff awarded forty five cents and seven dollars costs after Atwood counter claimed Rudloff had not been employed by him. Young Cecil Robb of Roosevelt died of heart failure at age 21.
