Terrible Tale of Suffering on Diamond Mountain
A Swiss ex-soldier Frank Eichner recounts a harrowing escape on Diamond Mountain near Vernal. Snowblind, starved, and with broken skis, he battled canyons and cliffs, ultimately reached the Manwaring ranch, where help and a warm meal restored him. He then continued to Vernal with companions Feltch and a hired man.
