Duel to the death and the siege end at Albany
In a frontier contest three Cahagan natives and a Seneca clash with the narrator and companions. After fierce knife and musket exchanges the race ends with two attackers killed and the others scattered near a swamp edge. Back in Albany the governor convenes merchants to discuss a new fur trade crisis and a French fort plan at Jazara.
