The Oceanic, built by Harland and Wolff of Belfast for the White Star Line, is launched as the longest vessel yet built. It features twin screws, steel hull, 685 ft between perpendiculars, 68 ft breadth, and a 410 first class, 300 second class, and 1,000 third class passenger capacity with a crew of 894. It surpasses the Great Eastern in some dimensions and aligns with large oceangoing ambitions of the era.
Uintah County bee keepers met February 26 in Attorney Gables office. J Ol Holgate elected president pro tem and J KE Hardy secretary pro tem. C C Bartlett named president, James Hacking vice president, J I Hardy secretary. Motion to form Uintah Bee Keepers Association passed. Next meeting set for March 4 at 1 PM.
