Rate Cut Hurts Utah Livestock Men
James A Hooper of the Utah Woolgrowers Association warns a 35 percent freight rate cut on meat and packing house products from the Midwest to western and Pacific Coast states will depress live stock prices. He notes the Interstate Commerce Commission reduction, announced last week in Washington, could harm sheep and hog prices unless similar reductions apply to live animals shipped east and to the coast.
