Fabulously Rich Enoch Davis Mine Found by Dallin and Hatch

The long lost Enoch Davis gold mine is located by George Dallin of Salt Lake and Lorenzo Hatch of Vernal. They report a 15 foot vein rich enough to yield about 300 per ton, outside Uintah reservation boundaries. Evidence at the site includes a burned camp and human bones, amid suspicions of prior frontier violence.

Letter from the Taylors in Alabama urge surrender

A June 4 letter from W B P Taylor to Browning prompts is reported as handwriting confirmed by several witnesses. The note requests authorities to call in all pursuers and dogs and says the Taylors will surrender for trial, claiming innocence though many doubt the motive.
