City County Building Vote Urged Despite Tax Hike Concerns
For a $1000 property the tax bill would rise slightly in 1953 due to lower levies on some items but higher school and exemption charges. City and county boards of education back the new building and urge voter approval, arguing overall benefit outweighs small increases. Public interest centers on whether a new city county facility should be built.
