Pioneer Ephraim H Roberts Dead at 72 in Naples
Ephraim H Roberts pioneer of Utah and former Pony Express rider died at his Naples home last Sunday evening after a brief illness. He was age seventy two and leaves twelve children. wife Omma Bell had died earlier in January. Services were held in Naples with speakers Pres Don L B Colton Bishop Albert Coodrich and Watson Hell of Mancos Colo. He was born June 13 1889 in Ripley Wisconsin and came to Utah with his family in 1851 assisting Brigham Young establishing a Provo pottery before serving as a Pony Express rider between Great Salt Lake City and California. The obituary notes his early Mormon conversion and the westward exodus, and that his remains lie in Vernal Cemetery. Continued on last page.
