Stranded group survives canyon ordeal near Carter Creek
The George Grosses with children Sybil and Jarry, Mrs. Shipley Ainge and Duane were trapped in a steep Carter Creek canyon after venturing too far. They lacked food and jackets and could not escape until daylight. Several relatives and neighbors traveled to Salt Lake and Vernal for assorted family illnesses, visits, and travel, with multiple kin arriving in the area for hospital stays and family gatherings.
