Mineral Claim Rules and Ground Allocation Text
The document outlines claim size limits 1600 feet long and 600 feet on each side of the vein or lode. It states that exceeding ground rights invalidates the claim though one cannot hold more than 1600 by 600 feet in a single claim. Allocation cannot pass through an agent’s action. Notices must specify claim extent and locate from monuments or natural objects. Posts and monuments mark ends of ground with stakes and a set number of feet. Each unpatented claim requires at least 100 dollars in annual work or improvements or it may be relocated. If work begins before a designated action, ownership may be preserved by starting work.
