Gulf Oil Corp completes its No.3 Wonsls Valley Unit Federal in Section 7 Township 4 South Range 22 East Uintah County. Initial potential production reported at 528 barrels per day from Green River perforations at about 5530 feet. Electric log tops show Green River at 3145 feet and basal Green River at 4885 feet.
Five Vernal District BLM employees completed three training programs in January. Topics included personnel management aerial photo interpretation and refresher courses in resource management. Frandsen remains in a month long school in Missouri, while Owen leads others in aerial photo techniques at Salt Lake City January 14 18.
Uintah County farmers are urged to order windbreak and shelter belt trees now through Utah State University and the U S Forest Service. Minimum order is 50 trees. softwood and hardwood species are available including Multiflora Rosa Green Ash Black Locust Honey Locust Russian Olive and others. Farmers must protect from fire and grazing and cultivate and irrigate for four years and report tree conditions upon request.
Larry McKee of Vernal joins hundreds expected at Jehovah’s Witnesses spring semi annual circuit convention at the Utah State Fairgrounds Coliseum in Salt Lake City from February 8 to 10, 1963. He serves as assistant presiding minister to Ted Draper and has been with the faith over four years. Draper has taught full time for about a year, devoting over 100 hours monthly. His parents and siblings are active ministers, and McKee is in charge of the music department for the Salt Lake City event.
County residents purchased $7005 in savings bonds during December, reaching a sizable annual total as a portion of the assigned quota. John P.
