Funeral Services Conducted For H. B. Woolley
Funeral services for Howard Bates Woolley a 52 year old Vernal businessman who died January 17 of a heart attack were held Friday at noon in the First Ward chapel Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Richard D. Rust officiated prayer at the family home was offered by Orion R. Jones. The service included music by a double mixed quartet with Frank Walker Wallace Johnson Patty Stewart Ida Sowards Lucille Calder Mae Jorgensen Arthur Schaemermeyer Byron Goodrich and others and songs In the Garden Softly and Tenderly and Going Home a solo by Mrs Jorgensen. Speakers were Jesse A Haws and Archie Johnson of Uintah stake presidency Byron Goodrich dedicated the grave at Internal Memorial Park pallbearers were Dr J Shimmin Leland Bennion Vern McCarrell Ralph Douglas Chew and Asa Johnston.

Benefit Dance For Richard Brewer Family Friday Night
A benefit dance for the Richard Brewer family will be held Friday night at Imperial hall. The late Mr. Brewer was killed near Willow Creek ranch and the family lost their home in a New Year fire. Admission is $1 per person or a couple in cash or a usable household item valued at $1 or more.

Red Cross Fund Appoints Hodgkinson County Campaign Leader
Harland E. Hodgkinson was named chairman of the 1949 Red Cross fund drive for Uintah county. Dr Wallace R. Paull announced the plan to mobilize local leaders to raise about 1200 to support disaster relief and veterans services. Last year residents gave 1870. The drive targets disaster aid, blood programs, first aid and health promotion.
