Bill by Calder Proposes County Numbered Auto Plates
A Utah bill introduced by Representative David H. Calder would issue automobile license plates bearing a district number for each of Utah’s 23 counties. The plan would rank counties by population from one to 29, placing the county number before the plate’s serial number and shift distribution to county treasurers, with the state tax commission covering plate costs. Calder supports repealing the ton tax, building storage reservoirs, and selling state lands for school funding.
