Highway Patrol Crackdown On Out of State Tags
The Highway Patrol to begin a crackdown Monday on residents with out of state plates. Vernal residents may obtain Utah plates at the courthouse on Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays until noon. Several arrests have been made for failure to report accidents. Any injury or property damage over $100 must be reported promptly.

New Upper Colorado River Storage Office Opens in Salt Lake City
A new special office for the Upper Colorado River Storage Project opened last week in Salt Lake City under BOR supervision. Bue peat of Reclamation Region No. E. Q. Larson said the office will coordinate studies for Glen Canyon Flaming Gorge Navajo Curecanti and related units. Jacobson will lead the office with 25 years federal experience, directing studies on storage, evaporation, water quality, power forecasts, and recreation in partnership with other agencies. Final Navajo and Curecanti studies not yet complete, and tunnel bids for Glen Canyon due in March.

State Sheepmen Begin Organizing Utah Division
Utah sheepmen met Wednesday during the Utah Wool Growers Convention to form a Utah division of the American Sheep Producers Council. James A. Hooper explained funds come from producers to promote wool and sheep with five national delegates plus a delegate at large and a delegation director to be chosen.
