Immense irrigation project planned by John E Roberts
John E Roberts of Vernal filed with the state engineer for 46 second feet direct flow and 6 000 acre feet storage rights from Pot Creek. He proposes a 316 acre reservoir one mile below the existing site, capacity about 5 490 acre feet, with a dam extending five feet above the present dam. Water would feed 70 miles of laterals to adjacent lands. The plan notes current rights date back years and would cover both existing and applied rights. Two pipes would convey water from the reservoir to nearby lands.
