National Guard Promotions Rapid but Demands Exacting Standards
A Vernal Ex press special feature argues rapid advancement is possible in the Utah National Guard while stressing exacting requirements. It cites engineer battalion openings for non commissioned officers and commissioned slots from enlisted ranks. The piece compares Guard and Regular Army promotion rates and notes self study, demonstrated skill, and willingness as keys to advancement, with examples from 1941 and 1950.
