School Board Unanimous On Bond High Bid
Uintah School Board held a regular meeting to consider a bond for a senior high school building. Architect Hyrum Pope proposed handling the architectural work with no charge if bonds failed. The plan calls for 16 classrooms a large gymnasium and an auditorium costing 80 000 to 85 000 dollars. A 120 000 bond for more facilities across multiple communities was approved with most members yes despite one vote against by Mr Hoeft. The board also rescinded a prior Farm Creek school funding action and decided to reinvest about 20 000 dollars from sinking funds into US state or county bonds. A Wednesday meeting was planned to continue discussions.

State Auditor Receives Excess Bounty Funds Notice
A Feb letter from State Auditor Mark Tuttle to County Clerk Wilson Murray says bounty certificates issued in one day totaled 25,000 dollars, with funds insufficient for more than half that amount. Payments will come from current funds then bounty taxes for 1924, due no later than December. Uintah County will receive its share while trappers and hunters wait.

Tuberculin Test of Dairy Cattle Starts Monday
Dr. A J Webb, state veteranarian, will test all county dairy stock for tuberculosis at designated community sites from Monday through Saturday. Tests cost 25 cents per head. cattle must be brought to testing locations as listed by local farm bureaus. Every dairy cow should be tested to know if milk contains tuberculosis germs.

First winter travel road opened from Heber to Uintah Basin
Heber City February 3. D C Montgomery secretary of the Wa patch Chamber of Commerce and county attorney announced that a winter road from Heber City through Strawberry valley to the Uintah Basin is now usable by automobiles. The county graders opened Dantola canyon in snow, costing about 1000 dollars. The opening challenges the state road commission to reuse existing highways instead of building a new route into the basin.
