Wreck on Baxter Pass Kills Engineer and Greek Worker
Two men killed in a Baxter pass wreck on the Uintah railroad while clearing snow from the tracks. Engineer Joseph Lane and an unnamed Greek worker died. foreman and two others were seriously injured. The engine toppled down the mountain, leaving only scrap iron. Lane leaves a wife and child in Denver. Tracks cleared late Wednesday allowing a Mack train to reach Dragon at midnight.

Drowning of Cattle in Brown's Park Recorded
Correspondent notes cattle losses on Christmas Eve far exceeded initial reports. About 60 drowned, later estimates reach 100 to 1100 as ice broke and more were found beneath. Losses put at about $3,000. three men were tried, discharged, then arrested again without trial. Also reports Mrs. L. J. Bradshaw's death from cancer and local burial concerns amid possible dam plans.

Tragic Runaway Crashes Driver Near Dragon
John Jensen, a Dragon area merchant and former sea sailor, died after a wagon runaway injured him severely. He had lived in Jensen and Dragon, worked as a correspondent for the Vernal Express, and was a respected 45 year old Dane who remained unmarried. Lars Jensen, pioneer and brother, helped shape his early years in Green River valley. He died after his wagon team bolted, causing a fatal brain injury en route to Provo hospital. Remains buried in Provo cemetery.
