County to Pave Ashley Valley Road With WPA Aid

A proposed county paving project in Ashley Valley would employ at least fifty men for two months. The plan envisions a three mile stretch from US 40 above the Upper canal through Ghines and past the Maescators to the old mall corner, at an estimated cost of 2000 dollars with county costs about 4000 dollars and the rest financed by the WPA. The aim is to create a permanent highway for the county’s densest area outside Vernal, using existing road bed and county funds from state allocations to fund the local portion.
