Dinosaur Offices Move To Quarry Site

The Dinosaur National Monument superintendent's office and administrative staff relocate from the Cooper Building in Vernal to the National Park Service Quarry Visitor Center seven miles north of Jensen. The move consolidates federal agency space and the new hours for offices are listed for the Quarry Visitor Center and Green River District 9.

Big Horns Increase In Dinosaur Men't Population

Wiliam J. Bartmore, a wildlife graduate student at Utah State University, reports a two year study showing Big Horn sheep in Dinosaur National Monument rising from near extinction to about 150 by 1959. The herd now covers about 44 square miles in Lodore Canyon and grows roughly 10 percent yearly.

Utes Look Ahead to Am Fork and Lehi Games

Uintah high school basketball reports strong showings as the varsity teams prepare for away game at American Fork and home clash with Lehi. Last week Uintah trounced South Ridge 653 to 48 with Busch 14, Murray 11, Caldwell 10 leading scorers. JV beat Maplin’s varsity 51 to 94. Saturday Judge Memorial edged Uintah in a tight 44 to 34 game on the Ute reservation. Murray led Uintah with 1 point, junior varsity won by about 12.

Ver nal Fire Department responded to two major calls in the past week a trailer house fire near Gateway Cafe and a pickup truck blaze on East 1st North.
