1959 Forest Program implements beetle control and grazing plans
Ashley National Forest reports a busy year with beetle control across 4000 acres and 27,000 infested trees treated. Salvage timber sales total 2,984,610 board feet valued at 8,750 dollars in stumpage. The program expands road construction, recreation facilities, and grazing research on Diamond Mountain and Duchesne Ranger Districts, aiming for sustainable use and beetle suppression by 1960.
